Learn how to handle weapons safely

There are many ways to learn how to shoot and handle handguns. The most common are classic shooting ranges, mirror simulators or shooting cinemas. But there are crucial weaknesses in the classic ways of training shooters.

Typically, familiarization with the use of handguns should be organized as follows:

1. theoretical basis and first familiarization with the weapon and accessories

2. loading operations, grip position, stance and firing modes; disassembling for cleaning

3. practice with the weapon in the simulator (verification of loading operations, grip positions, firing modes during the simulation)

4. practice with the weapon in live fire ( check of loading operations, grip position, types of firing in live fire)

5. combat shooting

However, depending on cost, time and safety constraints and prerequisites, weapon bearers and instructors often have to abandon parts of the above-mentioned optimal sequence.

It must not be the requirement to train forces only adequately, but always assume the worst possible situation for the exercise.

Anyone who leads and trains armed forces, but is also a member of the force, must ask himself at all times whether he has ensured the best training for his subordinates.

In the shooters school, shooting instructors can train the safe use of handguns of all types within augmented reality.

If no shooting instructor is available, the shooter can also learn to shoot in the shooters school without his own expert instructor using guided exercises. He simply follows the guided program of the shooters school, which evaluates his performance in VR video courses with the support of the available analysis tools. Hand-picked instructors give instructions so that the shooter is exceptionally well prepared to use handguns.

In the process, through most modern tracking any error can be found and thus be trained even more cost-effective, but above all more sustainable.

Type Cost danger area scenarios weapons Legal requirement view Credibility
shooting range high construction cost yes Plates Real Necessary 3D 180° no
shooting cinema high construction cost yes Movie Real Necessary 3D 270° yes
Simulator mirror medium acquisition cost no Limited Special fixed Recommended 2D 180° no

Indoor of the shooters school

The indoor area of the shooting school is designed to give the shooting instructor and shooter the opportunity to learn how to use handguns without the distraction of the outside world.

The stand can be made ready for use in a few simple steps.

A relevant scenario is the classic shooting stand. To save time, the shooter can have his result displayed directly on a small monitor.

If the shooter or the shooting instructor wants to change the weapons or targets, they can do so in seconds with just a few clicks.

Targets are available in a variety of forms. From normal 10 ring plate to T-plate, everything can be selected. If you have further wishes for targets, e.g. with dynamic right-left progression or approaching targets, these can be acquired via the integrated store.

Shooting is something special for most trainees, but also for the unusual. Many gun carriers are afraid of their weapon, worried about doing something wrong. In augmented reality, they can build the confidence they need in the field through hazard-free trail & error, but also through guided management of their fears.

1. Safety Regulations

4 Safety Rules:

  1. All weapons are to be considered loaded at all times.
  2. Never aim at something you do not intend to hit.
  3. The trigger finger does not touch the trigger until the gun is pointed at the target. The trigger finger leaves the trigger when the gun leaves the target.
  4. You must be sure of your target.

Good training. Low cost. Low risk.

Shooting training involves hazards. To avoid accidents or faulty handling, a shooter must prove in an augmented reality (XR) simulation that he treats the trust placed in him with competence and respect.

To save time, augmented reality can be used because it does not require a fixed organizational procedure in terms of internal and external security, but is ready for operation with just a power button.

Going to the shooting range is a daily task for most first responders or security forces, since the organizational effort is enormous. With the products of RAMROD XR the entire organizational effort can be saved.
